One missed message can change everything.
We’re seeking powerful short stories for One Missed Message, an anthology exploring how a single unanswered text, forgotten voicemail, unsent letter or message that arrived too late can alter a life.
Stories can be dramatic, romantic, mysterious, humorous or speculative, what matters is the impact of the message that wasn’t seen, or wasn’t sent.
Think: the text that could have saved a relationship, the letter that never reached its destination, the voicemail that changed someone’s fate, or the email that arrived a moment too late. Small moments. Huge consequences.
Submission guidelines:
- Send as a Word document
- Maximum of 3,000 words
- Times New Roman font
- Authors must be over 18 Years Old
- Any genre, any tone (within our guidelines), as long as the story centres on a missed message
The anthology will close once we have enough stories, so early submission is encouraged.
All authors accepted into the anthology will receive a free PDF copy of the book.

Please ensure that you read our Submissions policy before submitting. We do not accept manuscripts that contain porn, fetish, rape, bestiality or any work that glorifies violent crimes such as abuse or murder. We will not read any work that has child abuse as a main theme unless it is dealt with sympathetically and with compassion. We are not looking for splatter gore or work that over uses graphic or profane language. We do not expect all sweetness and light but there is a fine line between using a word because it fits the scene and over using it for shock value.
